I was in Anchorage recently, and let me say that all of the positive reviews are true. This restaurant was recomended by a friend, who said if you are looking for a good casual dinner, this is a go to spot. Glad i did. They have a good selection of beers brewed on site. As far as food, you must have the pretzel bites with their proprietary dippping sauce. The fresh halibut is fantastic. I am sorry that we only had one night in Anchorage, or i would be tempted to dine there again. It looks like reservations would be good since many of the cruise lines have this place on their recommended list. Give it a try.
The food was wonderful. I didn't know if my husband was going to be able to finish the 1.25 lbs of crab legs, but he did it! My halibut was delicious, but the winner for me was the bread pudding. Absolutely amazing!
We had an hour before our flight back home and decided to drop in this gem. The food was amazing and the drinks were tasty! What a way to end a vacation.
Loved it. On our last night in Anchorage, we made dinner reservations for 5:30 pm on a Friday night. We arrived at 5:30, checked in with the host and were seated in a small booth for two within minutes. As we were looking at the drink menu, Ivana, our server greeted us. We ordered drinks and began to study the dinner menu. I ordered the Beer Flight and my wife ordered the Sangria. We ordered our meals when the drinks were delivered. We decided to share the following: - Bowl of Hearty Alaskan Seafood Chowder - Rustic Spent Grain Bread served with Chive Butter and Sweet Fig Spread - Alaska Salmon BLT Salad The meal was amazing at Glacier Brewhouse as was the entire service team. We'd definitely come back the Glacier Brewhouse!
Great food. Great beer. Perfect service. We ordered the appetizer tower, a beer flight, and peanut butter pie and everything was delicious m.
Came for some Alaskan king crab legs. $130 which apparently is the same as last year and about the same as MP as the other places nearby. Make sure you have reservations. On a Monday we put in reservations for 8p and upon arrival there were walk-ins that were told about 1 hr wait. It looked pretty busy inside, even the bar area. Perhaps it's a popular spot for cruise ship passengers! Good good and service. Restrooms are available outside of the host stand in the indoors foyer area.
Went here and ordered food to go because the wait was too long. Keep in mind this place allows you to make reservations ahead of time so if you plan to dine in, make a reservation!! Tried the halibut fish and chips which cost around $32 and it was good! However given the price point, I probably wouldn't get it again since the size was small. The halibut itself was fresh, with no fishy after taste. They also provide crispy fries with it and it was good! Wish I had a chance to try their beers so maybe next time I'll try it!
This had to be the best meal we had in Alaska. We both enjoyed our IPA, it was cold and delicious. We shared a salad and enjoyed a loaf of the most wonderful bread. It was the best salmon we ever had and it was perfectly prepared. The restaurant is huge, very clean and comfortable. The service is excellent, they took our order promptly and the food came out in a timely manner. We did make a reservation even at 3 in the afternoon, there were plenty of tables though. Such a great experience!
We went bike riding along the Tony Knowles trail earlier in the day and one of the workers at the bike rental shop (review forthcoming) recommended Glacier BrewHouse. Boy what a great recommendation! We managed to make a 7:45 pm reservation early in the day but when we got there, I overheard that the wait was 2 1/2 hours long! The dining area is huge and it was readily apparent that it's popular for a reason. The service was excellent. The run a well oiled machine with the staff looking over each others stations. Our primary server was attentive and made good suggestions. The flight that I wanted needed a substitution since they were out. In terms of beer, it was top notch. The food was so good. The halibut and salmon were cooked perfectly and seasoned well. The bread pudding was the perfect way to end the meal. It was so good that we made another reservation on the tail end of our trip. Can't wait to eat here again.
Ambiance: Very cool restaurant with a nice bar Service: Good. Greeted and seated quickly. Initial service to order was slowly but was very attentive after. Food: Alright let's get into this! This was the first place we hit upon landing in Anchorage. I was hankering for chowder so I ordered a cup of their chowder and their cornbread sounded good. Both were very good! The cornbread did not initially come with the maple butter so I had to ask. If you order this, make sure you get it because the butter was good! We also ordered the fish and chips and the wood grilled burger. Both were also very good. The fish and chips were thick and plump with a respectable layer of batter. I hate when it's all batter when you are paying for the fish so this was great! It was also nice a crispy (but not burnt). I also hate soggy fish and chips, so again, this was great! The burger was also great! Perfect ratio of meat to veggies along with a sturdy bun! Didn't find a soggy meal in this place!
